If you love to act, sing and dance; then there is no other choice.

Nestled on beautiful Vancouver Island, in the truly remarkable Comox Valley is a summer theatre program like no other. 40 Students will come together and prepare A FULL LENGTH MUSICAL, work with three theatre professionals, and make friends that they will treasure forever. For some students, CYMC Musical Theatre is the highlight of the year. A unique combination of hard work, relaxation, learning, and friendship like no other. To cap the weeks of preparation we will perform Sweeney Todd six times in Courtenay BC and then take the show on the road across Vancouver Island.

CYMC Musical Theatre’s summer season kicks off with a rigorous set of professional-like theatre auditions. Students will have the opportunity to strut their stuff and vie for role of their choice. There’s no pre-casting and all the roles in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd will be up for grabs as of July 3.

Last year we took our production of RENT on a tour of Vancouver Island for the first time. This year we will do the same thing again with up to 4 additional performances in Duncan and Victoria. Our initial performances will take place at our home theatre, The Sid Williams Theatre located in the heart of downtown Courtenay, BC

over 12 exciting workshop leaders from a variety of different artistic disciplines
All-Sondheim student showcase, all participants will have a chance to strut their stuff in a special concert
Vigorous daily dance warm ups
